The Phoenix Star Reflect Protection membrane compound consists of a distilled modified bitumen mixture with selected elasto-plastomeric polymers and atactic polypropylene; its excellent quality is highlighted by two indicators: cold flexibility (-15° C) and thermal shape stability (130° C). These parameters positively affect resistance to thermal ageing by increasing the service life of the roofing. Membranes with high resistance to thermal ageing and with excellent thermal shape stability are applicable in any climatic zone, but particularly in countries with warm climate and on thermally-insulated roofing. Excellent cold flexibility enables easy adaptation of the membrane during installation, which is an important feature in areas characterized by harsh climate. This compound, thanks to its special formula, has an excellent behaviour against UV rays ageing and provides excellent walkability during application, essential properties on "exposed surface roofing", where even the appearance must be impeccable.

The reinforcement used in Phoenix Star Reflect Protection membranes consists of a non-woven, polyester fibre, spunbonded and heavy-weight fabric, stabilized with glass, with isotropic behaviour and rot-proof. This reinforcement is defined as "composite", as the excellent mechanical properties of polyester such as tensile strength, elongation and tear strength, are added to the exceptional thermal stability properties of glass. Membranes with excellent dimensional stability ensure high performance and avoid waterproof surface shrinkage even in case of highly stressed roofing. Reinforcement with high mechanical properties -tensile strength, elongation at break, tear resistance- characterizes membranes with significant ability to: absorb high stress due to structural movements, laying with mechanical fasteners in areas exposed to strong winds, withstand foot traffic and static weights, with reference to flat roofs waterproofing with heavy protection.
