ORION BIARMATO are a range of bituminous waterproofing membranes featuring a double reinforcement that offers excellent tread resistance. The particular compound employed in ORION BIARMATO is not affected by UV ageing and allows the membranes to be employed as top layer in fully exposed roofing systems.


ORION BIARMATO employs a compound consisting in distilled bitumen modified with elasto-plastomeric polymers and atactic polypropylene; its excellent quality is highlighted by three indicators: low temperature flexibility (-15° C)flow resistance at high temperature (130° C) and dimensional stability (± 0.1%). These parameters positively affect resistance to thermal ageing by increasing the service life of the roofing system. Membranes with high resistance to thermal ageing and with excellent flow resistance at high temperatures are suited to any climatic zone, and particularly indicated in areas with warm climates and for solutions where a thermally-insulated roofing system is required.

Good cold flexibility enables ease of application of the membrane, an important feature in areas characterized by harsh climatic conditions.

This compound, thanks to its special formula, features an excellent resistance to UV ray ageing and allows the membrane to be walked on during application.

The peculiar properties of ORION BIARMATO allow this membrane to be used as topmost waterproofing layer on fully exposed roofs.

The reinforcement employed in ORION BIARMATO membranes consists in a spunbond non-woven, rot-proof polyester fabric coupled to reinforced glass fiber. Thanks to its excellent dimensional stability ORION BIARMATO ensures high performance and avoids shrinkage of the waterproofing surfaces even when the roof system is subjected to significant thermal strains.
Thanks to their excellent mechanical properties (tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance and absolute dimensional stability) ORION BIARMATO membranes are able to absorb high levels of strain due to structural movements of the building.
They can be applied with bituminous cold glues (such as GENERAL GLUE) or laid with mechanical fasteners in areas exposed to strong winds and withstand both pedestrian traffic and static weights.
